Things to do in Chiang Mai: Explore Wulai Walking Street & Warorot Market

By Big Explorer - November 04, 2017

Our experience in Chiang Mai is never complete without visiting the markets in Chiang Mai. Stay through the weekend to experience the weekend markets, especially if you love shopping and eating, you will be in for a treat.

Wulai Walking Street

The Wulai Walking Street is filled with many sounds and sights. Here you can find mostly handicraft works and lots of food. Like the other night markets, you can easily get lost and wander aimlessly around the night market. You can spot massages, many are seen operating openly by the streets, tourist flock to these to massage their tired feet, (comfort and quality at your own risk). Beverages and tasty local Thai food, desserts to fill your belly and shopping to keep you occupied through the night.

Warorot Market (Kad Luang)

Dubbed as the local market, you can find plenty of yummy street food at very affordable prices. Head over for breakfast if the hotel food is not up to standard, don't waste those calories! From fried chicken, to Edamame and soya bean milk, your stomach is in for a treat.

Pros: Many locals are seen here, so prices are relatively cheaper than other markets. Interesting array of street food here. If you lack fibre, here is a good place to stock up on fruits and raw vegetable
Cons: Go early in the morning and afternoon. Most shops are closed at night.
